With the success of our unique and original idea we launched the website in 2004

Before 2001 we had spent years sourcing silk from all over the world to find the right one – after discussions with top skin and hair specialists we were told that it was Silk Charmeuse that was the silk to use – because of the way it is weaved (satin weave) it produces a soft shiny texture that is more beneficial to sleep on with regards to the skin and hair

This is the queen of silks produced from the mulberry silkworm and we use only the best with the weight of 19 momme – we are supplied with silk from Hangzhou and Suzhou in China – it is a well known fact that these two areas in China produce the best silk in the world

Our products are exclusive to this site they are all hand-made in England finished with French seams - no foreign labour is used -

We have also sourced ready made samples from China but found that being “Made in England” the workmanship was far better and when washed the stitching on the Chinese samples weakened and broke while the “made in England” samples were still going strong –

We realised that because of all the health benefits of silk why not protect babies and children’s skin and hair also as their skin can be prone to dryness and irritation –
